Amity Barker began her dance training at the age of three with Theatre and Dance under Kim Bowkett, where she pursued a pre-professional education. Between the ages of 16
and 17, she further refined her skills through their esteemed part-time program, studying her Certificate III in Dance under the guidance of Kylie Goeldner.
Seeking to elevate her training and performance career, Amity continued her dance education at Conroy Dance Centre under Shelle Conroy, gaining invaluable industry experience and professional mentorship.
Amity made her professional debut in 2013 in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang the Musical, produced by Gordon Frost performed at QPAC.
She went on to work across televised commercials and high-profile auditions for productions including Matilda the Musical and Annie, as well as many other opportunities.
At 17 years old, Amity secured the principle role of Sparkle the Elf in Christmas in Storyland,
directed by Kim Bowkett and Shelle Conroy. In the same year, she was awarded a scholarship to train at the Australian Musical Theatre Academy in Melbourne under the guidance of industryprofessional Queenie van de Zandt.
After taking time away from travelling and performing, Amity redirected her focus toward dance education, teaching at numerous studios and sharing her passion, knowledge, and industry experience with the next generation of performers.
