This year we are very excited to be hosting our very own LTK Eisteddfod for the second time, this year it will be held at the Bulimba Community Hall.
Dates: Sunday the 25th of May
We will also be competing in the Redlands Eisteddfod in September held at the Star of the Sea Hall in Cleveland.
Our trained teaching staff will be helping to pick performance pieces, they will also rehearse with the children in class time and all students have one zoom lesson available for them.
Students will have many different categories to choose from including – mime, duo poem, Australian verse, humorous verse and character.
This year we will be having two new sections to the LTK Eisteddfod.
Valerie Warwick Set poem section and the weather improvisation section.
In the set poem there will be two sections: 5 – 7 years and 8 – 12 years. Two trophies will be awarded and runner up prizes for each section.
Valerie will be in attendance at the eisteddfod to award the place getters.
The weather improvisation section is for older students in grade 3 and up who will be given a weather forecast to present to an audience using a pointer as a prop. The improvisation must last between 2 – 3 minutes.
If competing in a character section, you will be responsible for providing a costume for the section. We have access to Shakespeare’s Wardrobe – a professional costume company that provides costumes to rent if needed.
It is quite possible the Redlands Eisteddfod will run during the school day – so transportation must be provided by the entrant. It is hoped that an LTK teacher will be at all sections of the Eisteddfod where LTK is competing.
For us to enter your child in both the LTK and the Redlands eisteddfods a fee of $150 will need to be paid.
For us to enter your child in one of the eisteddfods either LTK or Redlands a fee of $75 will need to be paid.
